Assign a step to a user so that only he/she can mark it as done
I would like to have checklists where certain tasks can only be marked as done by a specific user. This, together with task precedence, would help my teams understand how person A needs to finish his task before person B can start his.
10 votesThis has now been implemented. In both workflows and checklist runs there is a setting to constrain the step to only the person who is assigned the step.

Ability to add images for a Step during a Run
Our existing checklist process requires us to take a screenshot for certain steps to validate/prove the state of something. It would be great if we could attach an image for a Step as well as comment and/or data so that we could completely migrate to Manifestly for our checklists.

Allow a task to have an "in progress" status
Sometimes a task is started but not completed: just takes a while, has several parts before completed, etc. It would be nice to visually see the tasks in progress. A comment can help, but it's a lot of overhead to always enter a comment for each task.

calendar/date option
the set date icon lets you pick a due date (gear icon) but it would be nice to have that come up as a checklist function. setting a date is not mandatory how it works now. it would be helpful to be able to make setting a date mandatory through one of the checklist functions where the actual user had to enter a mandatory date. a calendar widget or something should pop up and allow for ease of use.

Make headings collapse the items beneath them
For long checklists, it would be handy and make them more manageable, if once could collapse the items under a heading. Each heading would then indicate if all items under it were complete or not.

Possible to make a form inside a step to collect fields of data
I need to collect more data, and need several data fields of different types - check Box, long text, short text, numbers, drop down lists. This info I want to use with zapier after to send to other programs.

Working hypertext links in checklists
It would be nice to be able to link to other resources like wikis, Windows shares or other online tools from the step title or description.
It would help make the checklist more concise by having extra useful info somewhere else easily accessible.

Folder structures for organization (and security)
Organizing check lists into logical structure and groupings (folders?) would improve the usability for teams.
3 votesTags provide this capability. You can tag checklists and then filter based on the tags. You can also limit access to checklists based on the tags of a checklist and a user. Please view the help center for more info.

Ability to Duplicate a Selection of Tasks
It would be handy to be able to select groups of tasks and copy/duplicate them so they can be pasted into another set. Right now we are not thinking of doing this outside of whatever checklist you happen to be working on because you could just create a new checklist run. We are thinking of this only within a checklist.
For example: We have repeating daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly tasks we take care of on our servers and many of the steps are identical but need to be listed under different headers or list items. Then we add steps that are specific for…

Allow individual steps to have a due date within the Checklist Templates
The checklist template allows users to set a schedule for each specific Checklist in its entirety, however some steps within a specific check list are not due for several days or even weeks. If I could take a specific step within a checklist and assign a recurring date or a one time due date to that specific step, it would be incredibly beneficial. I suggest adding the schedule option to the settings drop down on each individual step. Thanks for reading my suggestion!

Allow assignment of items to a role/category of users, not just individuals
It would be great if, in a workflow, we can pre-assign certain tasks (like "Manager sign-off") to a category/role or users, not to a specific user in advance. That would allow anyone with that role to complete that item, rather than having to pre-guess who might be available to sign off that item when a checklist is run.

Ability to make changes to a checklist template, and then update any existing runs that use this template. Also have the ability to determine if template changes should be applied to existing runs, old runs, or just future runs.
